Dorcas Alice Hommes

HOMMES, MRS. DORCAS ALICE Norton Shores Mrs. Dorcas A. Hommes, age 91, died Wednesday, February 18, 2004. She was born in Fremont, MI on January 19, 1913 to Joseph & Lydia Zeggers Baars and married Omer J. Hommes on December 15, 1937 in Muskegon. Mrs. Hommes had spent more than 40 years in the Muskegon area as a Nursing Instructor at Muskegon Community College, where she organized & directed the nursing program at MCC until her retirement in 1976. She was a member of Berean Church and was known in Muskegon for public speaking at many women's groups, and had founded & directed the Widows Agape Fellowship. SURVIVORS Son, Philip Catherine Hommes of Lancaster, MA; daughter, Naomi Marcell Racine of Spring Lake; 5 grandchildren, Gabriel, Eden, Danielle, Ariel, Christian; great grandson, Josiah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Omer in 1987. SERVICE Saturday, February 21, 2004, 4:00 PM at Berean Church with Pastors Dwight Reed and Craig Apel officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION Friday, 7-9 PM at Clock Funeral Home. MEMORIAL: Berean Church Memorial Fund. Clock - Muskegon
