Donna Jean Pittman

Donna Jean Pittman, age 77, of North Muskegon, passed away peacefully at her home on September 9, 2026. Born on October 26, 1948, to Orlo & Edith (Kaule) Wilks at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon, Michigan, Donna was a lifelong member of the community she loved.

A graduate of North Muskegon High School, Class of 1969, Donna devoted more than 30 years to caring for others through her work as a self-employed house cleaner, building a loyal circle of clients by word of mouth. In later years she kept busy tending to two local offices every other week, more for the joy of staying active than anything else.

Donna's greatest happiness was her family. Weekends were often spent with her grandchildren-going to the park, taking walks around the neighborhood, fishing trips, and visits to Bear Lake and the lakeshore to look for rocks, seashells, and beach glass. At home, her green thumb flourished in the garden, and her kitchen was a gathering place where she cooked for everyone and kept treasured family recipes-especially her famous taco salad at every family gathering. Her family fondly remembers Taco Tuesdays and enchiladas "that melted in your mouth."

She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Lee Berghuis, her children, Sandra (Bob) Devenport and Ted Pittman; her grandchildren, Kaylin Devenport and Quinton (Nicole Kendall) Devenport and her great-grandchild, Emery Devenport. She is also survived by her sister, Ardyce Fitzgerald, nieces and nephews, including Stephanie Bernhardt, Deborah (Robert) Dalziel, Kate Wilks, Jody Brown, Jerry Fitzgerald, Brian Erickson, and Doyle (Cristine) Erickson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlo and Edith Wilks; her siblings, Fred (Jeri) Wilks, Marlene Erickson ; and infant brother Richard.

Funeral Services for Donna will take place on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 4:00PM at the Clock Funeral Home, 1469 Peck Street, Muskegon, MI 49441. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
