Donna Olive Klecka

Klecka, Donna Olive North Muskegon, Michigan Donna Olive Klecka was a woman who lived happily and who loved life and all her people to the fullest. She was such a bright light that her loss will forever be deeply felt by her daughter, family, friends, and all of the NM kids she loved so much. She passed peacefully on September 15, 2020 with her daughter at her side after squeezing out every drop out of life. Born June 2, 1936 in Britton, South Dakota, she was the daughter of Albert & Rasmina "Mina" (Skor) Carlson. She was married to James W. Klecka for 43 years until his death in 2006. Donna and Jim loved to square dance, snowmobile, golf, travel, and camp. Donna was the secretary at North Muskegon High School for 36 years and was the heart of NM. She was an extra mom to so many kids, helping to shape lives in whatever way she could with just the right balance of tough guidance, love, and compassion. Donna was involved in everything NM: football games, FEM dances, Girls Club, and any and all performances. She especially loved casino trips and keeping the post office in business by sending cards to hundreds of people for special occasions. Church was a big part of Donna's life and she was active in Samuel Lutheran Church, First Lutheran Church, and Community United Methodist Church. Taking trips up north with her daughter, Kelly, was always a highlight every summer. Often seen cruising around town in her yellow VW bug, with a hat on, the convertible top down, and sunflowers in the vase, she brought a smile to many faces. Her personality lit up any room and she was the life of the party. She will be greatly missed and she will live on in our hearts and memories forever. SERVICE Due to COVID, a private graveside service will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery with Rev. Christopher Anderson officiating.
