Donald "Don" Charles Raymond, Sr.

Donald "Don" Charles Raymond, Sr., passed away June 14th, 2008 at his home in Challis, Idaho. He was 94 years old. He was born April 29th, 1914 to Charles Edward Raymond and Eathel Mae Pickett in Kent City, Michigan. He married Winifred Eden on July 6th,1935. On March 1st, 1936, a son was born, Donald Charles, Jr. and on June 21st, a daughter, Judith Kay in 1942. he and Winifred were divorced in 1953. In 1954 he met Donna Lucille Gray and they were married on May 28th, 1955. A daughter, Luanne was born on September 12th, 1956. She joined the combined families of Don's two children and Donna's three. Don continued to work at Continental in Muskegon until he retired in 1973 when he, his wife and Luanne moved to Darby, Montana. When Donna developed Alzheimers in 2002, he moved to Challis, ID to live with Luanne and Rex Berry. He spent 5 years in Challis making birdhouses and enjoying the Challis Senior Center. Don is survived by his children, Don, Jr. (Margaret), Judee (Tom), Luanne (Rex); step-daughter, Patricia Johnson and step-son, Raybourn Gray (Doris). He has a sister-in-law, Leona McLaughlin in Pahrump, Nevada. He has 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Donna Lucille, a step-daughter, Anita Rand, daughter-in-law, Audrey Raymond (Don), three sisters, Kathleen, Eldonna and Maxine and one brother, Clifford (Bub) Raymond. Don was cremated and will be buried in a birdhouse he had built alongside his wife Donna in Darby, Montana.
