Donald Nummerdor Sr.

Mr. Donald G. Nummerdor, Sr., age 76, passed away at a local nursing home on May 28, 2007, following a long illness. He was born February 3, 1931 in Muskegon to Gerrit and Ruth (Kesteloot) Nummerdor and attended Muskegon Heights High School. He married the former Mary E. Snyder in Muskegon on May 13, 1950. Following his retirement, Don and Mary resided in Naples, FL during the winter months and at their cottage on Crystal Lake during the summer. Don was a former private pilot, enjoyed hunting, his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, NASCAR, traveling, the races at Thunderbird Raceway and hockey. Don served his country from 1949 to 1950 in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Muskegon Heights Eagles. He was employed at American Coil Springs for 40 yrs retiring in 1992. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Don is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Debra (Tony) Cordo of Norton Shores; sons, Donald (Doreena) Nummerdor, Jr. of Punta Gorda, FL, Dale (Lynne) Nummerdor of Norton Shores, Dean G. (Melinda) Nummerdor of Irons, MI and Douglas G. (Tammy) Nummerdor of Saline, MI; 2 sisters, Marilyn Beauchamp of Naples, FL and Ruth (Larry) Wehrle of Estero, FL; an aunt, Lorraine (Joff Lambert) Camp of Blue Lake; his cousin, Diane (Tom) Hubbell of Spring Lake; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held Friday 11 A.M. at the Lee Funeral Home with Rev. James Enns presiding. MILITARY RITES under the auspices of the Muskegon County Council of Veterans will be held at the funeral home following the memorial service. INTERMENT: Mona View Cemetery.
