Donald Murray

Mr. Donald Ray Murray, age 82, passed away Friday, October 11, 2019. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on April 24, 1937 to Edward & Louise (Kartes) Murray. Mr. Murray worked for over 25 years as a Data Processor for Continental Motors and later became the club manager for the Muskegon Eagles. Don was a member of the Muskegon Elks, the Muskegon Eagles, the Knights of Columbus and was a huge Notre Dame fan. He enjoyed golfing and working as a ranger at Chase Hammond Golf Course. Don coached multiple different sports including football, basketball, baseball and girls basketball at Muskegon Catholic Central, Oakridge schools and the Recreation Center in Conway, South Carolina. SURVIVORS Wife, Donna Alderink; sons, Rick (Shawn) Murray of Muskegon, Ray (Shelley Poest) Murray of Mississippi; daughter, Kimberly (Nathan Tarte) Alderink of Muskegon; grandchildren, Lucas Britt, Ryan Britt; former spouse, Celia Sheffer. CELEBRATION OF LIFE Thursday, October 17, 2019, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Clock Funeral Home - Muskegon with an Elks 11th Hour Toast at 2:30 PM. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus.
