Mr. Donald Leo Enell, age 76, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 17, 2008 at the McAuley Place care facility following a long illness. Don was born in Casnovia on November 28, 1932 to Leo and Ellen (Faulkner) Enell. Don was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. On May 5, 1973, he married the former Dorothy Mae Cady-Haralson. In 1980 following 30 years of employment at C.W.C. Textron, Don retired and became the sexton of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where he remained for the next 14 years. He also did custodial work for the Club Ed-Mar and Liquidating Sales. Don was devoted to his wife and children and enjoyed taking day trips with the family. He enjoyed gardening, was an avid Cub fan and was a former member of V.F.W. Post 3195 and the Muskegon Hts. Eagles. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Don is survived by: wife, Dorothy; daughter, Cherlynn (James) Bordeau of Muskegon; grandchildren, James Bordeau, Jr. and Michelle (Kevin) Dumas; honorary adoptive children, Donna Esch and LaVon King; brothers, Gerald and Junior Atwood; sisters, Phyllis Atwood, Pam (William) Babcock and Evelyn Guthrie. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Burns and brother, Bud Enell. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Friday, 3:00 P.M., December 19, 2008, Fr. Thomas J. Brown presiding. Military Rites will be held under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 3195. Memorials: Sacred Heart Church or Heartland Hospice. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass.
