Donald W. Bromley

Mr. Donald Warren Bromley, age 89, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on June 6, 1927 to Wayne & Olga (Carlson) Bromley and served his country in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He married the former Elsa Brace on August 15, 1947 until her death on April 21, 1998 after 50 years of marriage. Donald married the former Arlene Davey on July 17, 2000. Mr. Bromley had been a long time employee of Carpenter-Rypma Chevrolet as service manager/salesman, for the Whitehall Public Schools as transportation supervisor and Hickory Knoll Golf Course as grounds maintenance. Donald enjoyed fishing, camping, and fixing anything. SURVIVORS Wife, Arlene Davey-Bromley; sons, James (Pat) Bromley, Douglas (Sherri) Bromley; daughters, Judith (Clarence) Cramer, Lori (Rick) Ray, Susan (John) Bromley-Roh; grandchildren, Janet (Ralph) Stocker, Beth Anne May, Jayme (Glen) Schmitt, Benjamin Cramer, Eric (Meggon) Bromley, Chris (Sandy) Bromley, Jacob Lipka,Tyler (Breanna) Ray, Elyse (Sam) Vos, Jacob Ray, Daniel Ray, Justin Roh, Alex Roh; several great grandchildren; step children, Debora (Gregory) Greiner, Brenda (Dennis) Payne, Kevin Davey, Jeffrey (Cindy) Davey; step grandchildren, Eric Greiner, Steven (Jen) Greiner, Melissa Greiner,Shaun (Kaitlyn) Greiner, Brian (Sarah) James, Carlie (Josh) Parks, Kasey James, Edward Rudat, Matilda Dodge, Akira Dodge. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsa J. Bromley; brother Roger Bromley; sister, Betty Sovacool; great grandchild, Hadley Bromley. SERVICE Monday, January 9, 2017, 12:00 pm at New Era Reformed Church, 4775 First St, New Era, MI with Rev. Rick Eschenburg officiating and Military Honors. Interment in Oakhurst Cemetery.
