Mr. Delmer M. Doctor, age 78, passed away Friday morning at a local nursing home following a long illness. Del was born in Muskegon on October 14, 1928 to Dick and Delilah (Stevens) Doctor. He was married to the former Betty J. Branthaver, she preceded him in death in 1984. A noted vocalist, Del had formerly served as choir director for: Calvary Baptist Church, Unity Reformed Church, First Church of the Nazarene, Youth for Christ and the Fifth Reformed Church where he was a member. Del had also directed the Muskegon and Holland Barber Shop Chorus, the Sweet Adelines Chorus and sang in 6 different quartets, both gospel and barber shop, as well as many others. Mr. Doctor was a patternmaker and draftsman and formerly worked at Pyle Pattern, Monarch Pattern and Victory Pattern. Later in life Del worked as a real estate salesman. SURVIVORS: son, Daniel B. (Polly) Doctor of Norton Shores; daughter, Debra Rachael Gill of Muskegon; 2 grandchildren, Danny Doctor and Jennifer (Corey) Lallo and 2 great-grandchildren, C.J. and Maddie. He was also preceded in death by his brother, George. SERVICES: Tuesday 11 A.M. at Fifth Reformed Church, 2330 Holton Rd., North Muskegon. INTERMENT: Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION: Monday 6-8 P.M. at the Lee Funeral Home. MEMORIALS: Hackley Cancer Center.
