Diane Lynn

Muskegon, Michigan

It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Diane Lynn Jannenga, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister who left us on December 15, 2024, at the age of 65. Diane was born on October 9, 1959, in Muskegon, Michigan to Marvin and Lois (Knudson) Archer. She graduated from Muskegon High School and went on to attend Muskegon Community College. She married the love of her life Edward Jannenga on April 15, 1987, and they were blessed with three children.

Diane dedicated many years of her life to her role as an Administrative Assistant and Legal Secretary at Stariha Law Office, where her compassion and diligence made a significant impact on those around her. Known for her warm smile, she had an innate ability to light up a room and make everyone feel at home. Diane's laughter and kind heart will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was always figuring out ways to help others, her heart knew no bounds. Her journey on this earth was marked with love, compassion and faith in God.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School. She was also a chairperson for the Maycroft Square Tappers traveling around the area and helping them with their shows. Diane and Ed liked to go camping and ride their 3 wheelers on the trails up north and went on many adventures in their over 50 years together. She spent much of her life tending to her children, and teaching them true meaning of unconditional love. But above all else she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She always had a kind word, a special gift, or a warm hug for them.

Diane is survived by her devoted husband, Edward Jannenga, and her loving children, Cori (Marcus) Spencer, Trent (Mayze Lock) Jannenga, and Jessica (Travis Schultz) Jannenga. Diane also leaves a legacy of joy through her grandchildren: Maverick Spencer, Cohen Jannenga, Adalynn Schultz, Liam Schultz, and Everleigh Schultz. She is further survived by her siblings, Brian Archer, Ronnie Archer, Janet Archer, and Melissa Archer, all of whom will carry her memory close to their hearts.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Lois (Knudson) Archer and her siblings Michael Archer and Judy Archer.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

a time to be born, and a time to die;

a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;

a time to kill, and a time to heal;

a time to break down, and a time to build up;

a time to weep, and a time to laugh;

a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;

a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

a time to seek, and a time to lose;

a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

a time to tear, and a time to sew;

a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

a time to love, and a time to hate;

a time for war, and a time for peace.

Diane's family will hold a memorial service to celebrate her life and the love she gave so freely at a later date. They would also like you to know that her last act of kindness was to be a donor to Gift of Life.
