Diane Louise Dempsey

Diane Louise Dempsey, 65, of Muskegon, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 23, 2024.

Diane was born March 6, 1959, the daughter of James and Bonita (Witteverongel) Hathaway. She graduated from Fruitport High School in 1977 and married her high school sweetheart, Robert on June 24, 1978. They began their life together living on different air force bases in Texas and Indiana before returning to Muskegon to raise their family. She gave birth to daughter, Jessica in 1986 and Adrianne in 1987. She worked in the medical field at Mercy/Trinity Health for 30 years. She enjoyed motorcycle rides, reading and theater, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and loved ones. Diane found fulfillment in helping others. She had a selfless soul with a heart of gold. Many considered her to be a safe harbor, mother or good friend. Diane was an angel on earth, beautiful inside and out. A wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by everyone who was blessed to know her.

SURVIVORS

She is survived by: her husband, Robert; children, Jessica Dempsey, Adrianne (Frandi') Dempsey; grandchildren, Briana, Ronan, and Kelima; sisters, Patricia Weller, and Jackie (Mike) Gritzmaker; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; daughters of the heart, Theresa Hock, and Jennifer (Keith) Larsson; and many other people in her life she considered family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother-in-law, Lee Weller; and her close friend, Anna Lundquist.

SERVICES

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Clock Funeral Home 1469 Peck Street Muskegon. Visitation will take place from noon until the time of service.
