Bennett, Dennis Delbert, aged 71, of Nunica passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025. He was born at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon to George Bennett and Dorothy Bennett (Barber) on July 12, 1953. He grew up in Ravenna and Coopersville. In 1971 he graduated from Coopersville Senior High School where he played football and baseball. After high school he worked at Johnson Construction. On November 1, 1977 he was initiated into Local 154 Pipefitters and Plumbers Union in Muskegon. During his 48 year career as a pipefitter he worked on a lot of different jobs including out of state. During the 1990s and early 2000s he was the piping superintendent for Northshore Construction. Following that he worked on numerous other jobs including in St. Louis, MO and at the power plant in Port Sheldon before retiring in 2019. Dennis had been an avid golfer since the 1990s and since retiring he enjoyed golfing at least four times per week with his brother Doug, his nephew Ryan, his best friend Doc Waldie, and all of his other golf buddies. He became a member of Moss Ridge Golf Club in 2021. He was also a member of the Sons of American Legion in Grand Haven since 2012. He enjoyed reading and watching professional sports including golf, baseball, and football.


He was preceded in death by his father George Bennett, mother Dorothy Bennett, brother George Bennett, ex-wife and mother of child Vicky Bennett, brother Douglas Bennett, and sister Judith Barnes. He is survived by his daughter Jillynn Bennett of Las Vegas, his brother Charles Bennett of Muskegon, his sister Janice Bennett of Cocoa, many nieces and nephews, and Sharon Weber his girlfriend.


Dennis' Official Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, the day after what would have been his 72nd birthday, at Local 174 Plumbers and Pipefitters; 1008 O'Malley Dr.; Coopersville, MI 49404 at 2:00pm
