Denise M. Burton

Mrs. Denise Marie Burton, age 59, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019. She was born in Muskegon, MI on December 13, 1959 to Dennis Schlueter & Arloa (Tazlaar) Bartos and married Roy Burton on July 3, 1993. Mrs. Burton had been a Patient Advocate for the US Department of Veterans Affairs in Grand Rapids. Serving the veterans with the highest quality treatment possible was Denise's drive and purpose while serving as the patient advocate. She was also an advocate for promoting Sarcoidosis Awareness. Denise battled with Sarcoidosis for 28 years and found purpose in suporting other sarcoidosis fighters and educating medical personale. She maintained a facebook support group for Sarcoidosis Warriors. When Denise was young she was part of the Muskegon Youth Symphony, travelling to Europe. She enjoyed reading, swimming and loved her family. SURVIVORS Husband, Roy Burton; sisters, Debbie Bartos, Paula (Don) Schohl, Heather Rhodea; nephews, Justin, Andrew, Brandon, Gideon & Kevin Schohl; stepfather, Joe Bartos many aunts, uncles, cousins & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents & sister, Kathie Schlueter. SERVICE Private family services will be held. Interment in Mona View Cemetery.
