Delphine C. Taylor

Mrs. Delphine C. Taylor, age 93, passed away, Monday, September 29, 2008 at the Poppen Residence. She was born October 7, 1914 in Neopit, WI, to Edwin and Clara LaPorte. Mrs. Taylor was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church and had worked for Heyboer Transformers in Grand Haven for many years. She loved playing Bingo and card games with her grandchildren. On March 26, 1946 she married Larry Taylor in Muskegon and he survives her along with 1 son, Ronald (Bonnie) Taylor of Muskegon, daughter-in-law Theresa Spars of Muskegon, 5 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her special friend Jayne Taylor and her constant companion Brie the dog. She was preceded in death by her son, Clayton Spars who passed away in 1993, and 2 brothers, Clifford and Jack LaPorte. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 2, 2008 at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Donn Tufts presiding. Visitation with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8 Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with a prayer service at 6:00 PM Wednesday evening. Burial will take place in Twin Lake Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be given to Harbor Hospice.
