Delores May Barber

Mrs. Delores May Barber, age 80, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at her home. She was born May 29, 1928 in Green Acres, WA to Timothy and Lucinda (Serrette) Neeley. She married Richard D. Barber in Muskegon on July 22, 1969. He preceded her in death on September 16, 1983. Delores was employed at Cole's Bakery for over 25 years until her retirement. She was an avid gardener and had received the Muskegon Heights Beautification Award. She is survived by her children: Lewis S. Thompson of Nashville, TN, Sandra J. (Bill) Rader of Montague, MI, Mark W. (Vicky) Thompson of Rothbury, MI, Charles R. Thompson of Muskegon, Cynthia K. Sullivan of Muskegon, Lind R. (Melody) Thompson of Shelby, MI and Kathleen A. (John) Trombley of Muskegon; 1 sister, Dorothy (Leonard) Goltz of Tacoma, WA; 23 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Thompson, 2 grandchildren, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 great-granddaughter. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m. at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 Pastor Joey Kretoski officiating. VISITATION will be Sunday, 2-4 p.m. and Monday, 1 hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest in Mona View Cemetery. MEMORIAL: V.N.S.
