Dean Masterson peacefully went to be with Our Lord, Sunday eve, after an extended illness. He loved and was loved deeply, and was respected by all that knew him. He was born January 12, 1925. As a legally blind albino, Dean faced challenges that would have discouraged many people, but he was never depressed. He learned to play a guitar and make a living with that skill. In 1949, he married the love of his life Thelma Lorraine (Palmer) and together they traveled out west with a Country Road Show to raise money to build a home. Although they had the tragedy of losing 2 children in infancy, Glenadean Kay & Jeffery Lynn, in the fullness of time they raised their 6 surviving children and owned several businesses. Dean is survived by his loving wife Thelma, children: Laura Lee (Lonnie) De Nio, Gayla (Michael) Burns, Jody (Bryan) Brattsburg, Melodee Carroll, Glen (Dawn) Masterson, and Tracey (Ron) Taylor, and 15 grandchildren, plus 12 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Following the services, a luncheon will be held at the VFW Post 7729, 6285 E. Apple Ave, at 12 Noon. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or Visiting Nurse Services and Hospice.
