Dean, Leo

Dean, Mr. Leo Joseph Grand Haven Leo J. Dean, 85, passed away at the home of his granddaughter, Stacy Su, in American Canyon, CA on February 25, 2006 from complications of prostate cancer. Leo has two surviving children, Karen Carson of New Port Richey, FL and David Dean of Grand Haven, MI.. His son Alan Dean preceded him in death. Leo has 10 surviving grandchildren, Robert, Ricky, Steve, Stacy, Timmi, Sherri, Kelly, Terri, Alan Jr. and Amanda; also 23 great grandchildren. Leo was also predeceased by his third wife, Leona Selb whom he was married to for over 30 years. He has a step-son Joseph Selb of Grand Haven, MI who has two children, Jackson and Alex. Leo was confined to a wheelchair the last 6 years of his life, but he never let that stop him. His first love was photography and he was never without a camera; his second love was yard sales. Leo's other hobbies included antiques and he owned "Bayou Antiques" on Mercury Dr. in Grand Haven for 30 years. Leo also loved feeding the swans on Millhouse Bayou. Saturday mornings you would find him having breakfast with neighbor Don Tenbrink. Leo prided himself on attending Muskegon Heights High School Reunion, class of 1940, every year. Most of all Leo loved visiting friends and neighbors and he couldn't resist any animal. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday April 22, 2006 at 1:00 PM at The Knights of Columbus, 1416 Washington, Grand Haven, with Dr. Larry Dannemiller officiating.
