Dean Chapman

Mr. Dean Morris Chapman, age 97, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on June 20, 1920 to LeRoy & Rolla (Warren) Chapman and served his country in the US Army during World War II in the European Theater as an aid to General Morris. He married the former Shirley Poole on August 22, 1948. Mr. Chapman had been employed as a Purchasing Agent at Lakeshore Machinery for over 30 years until retiring in 1985. Dean was a very active member of Central United Methodist Church, Toastmaster and Masonic Temple. He enjoyed wood working and making furniture and built some display cases for the Muskegon Museum. He will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Wife of 69 years, Shirley; sons, David (Jacki) Chapman of East Lansing & James (Leslie) Chapman of Flushing; grandchildren, Laurel Chapman, Sarah Chapman & Emily (Andrew) Steiger. MEMORIAL SERVICE A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Miller officiating.
