Dawes, Richard S. "Dick"

Mr. Richard S. "Dick" Dawes, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006 in Muskegon. He was born in Muskegon to Samuel and Elizabeth (Stevens), and had resided in the West Michigan area all of his life. Dick was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, and member of Ferry Memorial Church in Montague. He was a classic car enthusiast, especially for Corvettes, and enjoyed golfing and landscaping, as he did work for Old Channel Golf Course and White Lake Greenhouse. Dick was a loving husband and father. On February 23, 1994, he married the former Patricia Patterson, and she survives him along with 2 children, William (Shelly) Dawes of Wyoming, MI, Kim Dawes of Hamilton, MI; brother, David (Julie) Dawes of Norton Shores, and many nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Weesies in 1992; his parents, Samuel and Elizabeth; brother, Dale Dawes; and sister, Jane Cisneros. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Friday at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Rev. Dick Klaver officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 5-8 PM Thursday. Burial will take place at Lake Forest Cemetery in Grand Haven.
