David Charles Valk

Mr. David Charles Valk, age 81, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024. He was born in Muskegon, MI on June 20, 1942 to John & Hermine (Fles) Valk and graduated from Muskegon Heights High School, Muskegon Community College, and Michigan State University, where he earned a BA in Accounting. David married the former Laura Wilkins on October 17, 1964. Mr. Valk had been employed as an Accountant for Kaydon, Muskegon Piston Ring, and Harbor Industries before retiring. He was a former member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, and a current member of Lake Harbor United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Muskegon Accountants Association, and he enjoyed going on Orchard View Seniors Bus trips. David was passionate about spending time in his garden growing flowers and could spend all day there. The flowers occupied every corner of his yard and the different varieties bloomed all season long.

Wife, Laura Valk; sons, Jeff (Sandy) Valk of Holland, Thomas (Kimberly) Valk of Florida; Grand Children, Merisa Valk, Meriah Valk, Shelby (Riley) Roberson, Kaitlyn (Hans) Lorenz, Kyle (Maeve) Valk; brother James (Denise) Valk; several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by a daughter, Cara Sue Valk-Sill, his brother Phillip Valk and sister-in-law Daughn Valk

SERVICE

Wednesday, April 17, 2024, 12:00 Noon at Lake Harbor United Methodist Church with Rev. Mary Ivanov officiating. Interment in Norton Cemetery.
