David Melvin Sander

SANDER, MR. DAVID MELVIN Roosevelt Park Mr. David Melvin Sander, age 61, died Tuesday, October 16, 2001. He was born in Muskegon, MI on December 23, 1939 to Melvin & Geraldine Stolt Sander & married the former Sandra Graham on December 7, 1962. Prior to his retirement in 1999, Mr. Sander had worked as a Master Electrician at Wirtz Electric for 20 years. He was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council. A very avid bowler, he was a member on the Muskegon Elks Bowling League as well as a member of the Vikings. Active in his community, Mr. Sander was a baseball coach in Roosevelt Park for 18 years, served on the Roosevelt Park City Council for 10 years & also served as Mayor for the City of Roosevelt Park from 1997 to 2000. SURVIVORS Wife, Sandra; 1 son, David ''Skip'' Cathy Sander of Norton Shores; 2 daughters, Kelli Keith Kuipers of Roosevelt Park & Erin Chris Kuhn of Norton Shores; 6 grandchildren, Kim & Kirsten Sander; Derek, Samantha & Hanah Kuipers & Makenna Kuhn; 3 brothers, Pete Lou Sander of San Francisco, CA, Tom Sander of Roosevelt Park & Mark Sander of Muskegon; mother-in-law, June Graham of Roosevelt Park. SERVICE Friday, October 19, 2001, 1:00 PM at Samuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Christopher Anderson officiating. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
