David Manor

Mr. David R. Manor, age 76, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010. He was born in Redkey, IN on April 9, 1933 to Ralph & Esther (Rawlings) Manor and served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married the former Violet Drake on January 17, 1953. Mr. Manor had been the City of Muskegon Fire Chief and firefighter for 32 years until retiring in 1989. David was a master mechanic and carpenter who enjoyed farming, boating, motorcycle riding, traveling and loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Wife of 56 yrs, Violet; children, Michael (Barbara) Manor of Muskegon, JoAnn (Christopher) Flejszar of Twin Lake, Roger (Mary) Manor of Ann Arbor; grandchildren, Jesse & Robert Manor; step grandchildren, Jason, Amanda & Kristen Flejszar; extended family, Barbara Rasmussen, Deborah Burkall, Chad Burkall, Tracey Burkall, Roni Verhulst; siblings, Marianna (Dean) Giles of ID, John (Holly) Manor of NV, Steve (Patricia) Manor of Howell, James (Martina) Manor of Newaygo; brother & sisters-in-law, Ron, Ilah & Betty Drake; several nieces, nephews & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. SERVICE Friday, April 9, 2010, 11:00 AM at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Chaplain Jonathan Rager officiating and Military Honors under the Auspices of the Muskegon County Council of Veterans.
