David L. ''Larry'' Loyd, age 81 gained the victory over life and found eternal peace on June 9, 2007, at the Harbor Hospice Residence in Muskegon, Michigan. David was born May 5, 1926 in Muskegon to the union of Rev. Miles and Minerva (Roberson) Loyd. David was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II and then retired from the U.S. Postal service after 31 years of service in 1990 due to illness. He leaves to cherish his memories, his faithful and loving wife of 47 years, Dora Loyd, two sons, Allan, Tracy Loyd, two daughters Brenda Loyd and Sharon (James) Martin; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and one special niece Robert Loyd and a host of family and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents; one son, LaVern Loyd; one grandson, Andre' Loyd; five brothers, and two sisters. We are grateful that many family and friends will greet him at his arrival home. According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating, Muskegon, Michigan with the Reverend David Newsome officiating. Visitation with the family will be held .5 hour before the service.
