David Johnson

David L. Johnson (known to family as Doud), age 73, of Fruitport, Michigan, passed Saturday, July 30, 2016. David was born in Glens Falls, New York. He was a metallurgist - engineer. His interests were in big lake fishing, woodworking, target shooting and reloading. David belonged to the Fruitport Conservation Club. He retired from G E Aviation, f.k.a. Johnson Technology. David is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Mabel Mae Johnson. David is survived by his wife, Vicki, his son, Bryan James, and his step-daughter, Deborah (Ryan) Swanker. In addition, he is survived by his brothers, Colin (Carol) Johnson and Robert (Bonnie) Johnson, several nieces and nephews, and his constant companion, a golden retriever, Ginger. David will be remembered as an advocate of education and for always taking the time to smile and listen to the children that he crossed paths with. David will be missed by many.
