David Lee Elwell

Mr. David Lee Elwell, age 71, passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday, September 14, 2017. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on May 7, 1946 to Richard & Marjorie (Vanderlaan) Elwell and served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He received his Bachelors Degree from Western Michigan University and married the former Virginia Hill on May 11, 1968. Mr. Elwell had been employed as a bread salesman for Oven Fresh Bakery for 30 years until retiring in 2008. David was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and enjoyed golfing, watching the Tigers, Red Wings, Pistons, Lions, U of M football and loved Motown Music. SURVIVORS Wife of 49 years, Virginia; children, Jilanne (Phil LaSpina) Marine, Gregory (Wendy) Elwell; grandchildren, Lauren, Kylie, Kendyl & Addison; sister, Julie Wachter & brother, Richard Elwell. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Richard & Mabel Hill; brother-in-law, Richard Hill Jr. SERVICE Private family services will held. MEMORIAL: St. Jude Children's Hospital.
