Mr. David E. Boyd, aged 85, died Tuesday, June 5, 2007. He was born in Elwood City, PA on June 11, 1921 to David & Gertrude (Engel) Boyd. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia of 63 years; daughter, Janet Worrell (Jack) of New London, PA; sons, Robert (Kimberley) of Pittsburgh, PA, Timothy (Jeanne) of Okemos, MI; five grandchildren, John and Alexandra Worrell and Amanda, Greg, and Nick Boyd; and two sisters, Mary Faloon of Austin, TX and Jean Christensen of Bedford, MA. He was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a member of ASME, Past Commodore of Cuba Lake Yacht Club of Cuba, NY. He served as a LT on a destroyer in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific theater, and retired as a plant engineer from Standard Automotive Parts of Muskegon, MI in 1986. His hobbies were sailing, wood working, traveling, and bridge. A memorial service will be held on June 16, 2007 at 10 AM at St. Gregory's Episcopal Church with Interment in the Memorial Courtyard. Rev. David Brower will be officiating. Friends may meet with the family at a reception following the service. Any donations may be made to St. Gregory's Memorial Courtyard.
