Darryl D. Peterson, age 71, died Sunday, October 26, 2008. He was born September 28, 1937, to Caleb and Myrtle (Kring) Peterson in Somo, Wisconsin. Darryl lived most of his life in the White Lake area. He served in the US Air Force from 1954 to 1958. In 1968, Darryl and his brother, Jack, started Form All Tool Company in Whitehall, from which he retired in 1999. In 1986, he married June Byron, at their home in Whitehall. His greatest passion was fishing from the decks of the Suds Bros I & II. He was active in the White Lake Eagles, providing fish for many fish boils for both the Eagles and the Maritime Festival. He enjoyed taking many friends and customers out for fishing trips as well. He enjoyed his John Deere tractor providing lawn and snow removal service for many friends and family. Many happy hours have been spent on his gator with his dog, Milo, gazing at his pond and watching NASCAR and football on TV during his naps. He is survived by his wife, June; his children, Cynthia (Daniel) Lombard of New Era, Thomas Peterson and Melissa Peterson, both of Montague; step-children, James (Gloria) Byron of Muskegon, Teresa (William) Brolick and Shane Byron, both of Grand Haven, and Jeff (Pam) Byron of Muskegon; a brother, Dale (Lana) Peterson of Montague; a sister, Janice (Mike) LeGood of Illinois; grandchildren, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Kevin, Paul, Kara, Eric and Cassidy; step-grandchildren, Aris, Nicole, Katelyn, Anna, Shaun, Sara, Jeff, Ceclia, David and Ryan; He has 8 step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews ; mother-in-law, Grace Bayle of Muskegon; brother-in-law, Robert (Diean) Bayle of Holton; a sister-in-law, Lyla McClelland of Ludington. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Deborah, and brothers, Jack and Doug. MEMORIAL VISITATION: Saturday, November 1, 2008, from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM, at Clock Funeral Home in Whitehall. A Military Salute, conducted by Algot Johnson American Legion Post #69, will be held at 1:30 PM, at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow at White Lake Eagles, 1204 S. Lake St., Whitehall.
