Darlene Elizabeth Smith

Smith, Mrs. Darlene Elizabeth Norton Shores, Michigan Mrs. Darlene Elizabeth Smith, age 82, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022. She was born in Montague, MI on September 1, 1939 to Harry & Lillie (Tamsen) Butzer and married Dr. Robert E. Smith on March 15, 1969. Darlene graduated from Hackley School of Nursing and became an RN and worked at Hackley Hospital as a surgical nurse. She was a member of Forest Park Covenant Church, Hackley Hospital Auxiliary and Philanthropic Educational Organization for many years. Darlene loved to sail with her husband and travel. She also enjoyed cooking, snowmobiling, cross-stitch, playing bridge, volunteering at Hackley Hospital gift shop and spending time with her grandchildren. SURVIVORS Children, Bill Smith, Kim (Steve) Eddy & Ellen (Brad Walker) Smith; 6 grandchildren, Dan, Alex, Amanda (Grant), Austin, Katie (Rojel) & Evan (Kenzie); 7 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Dr. Robert E. Smith and her son, Paul Smith.
