Darlene Joyce Cooke, 86, of Twin Lake, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

Darlene was born March 10, 1938 in Oak Park Illinois, the daughter of John and Florence Soukup. She married William Cooke in 1959 and together they were blessed with 58 years of marriage until his death in 2018. Darlene worked at Grace Baptist Academy and attended Grace Baptist Church in Kankakee Illinois. Darlene and Bill moved to Crescent City Illinois where they attended Trinity Church and Darlene worked in the office. She also was a member of the Christian Womens Club. Later in life her and her husband moved to Twin Lake Michigan and attended Christ Church in North Muskegon.

Darlene loved the Lord. She taught Bible Studies for many years. She also enjoyed fishing and doing yard-work. She was a faithful, loyal, organized, generous woman who will be deeply missed.

SURVIVORS

Sons, Bill (Suzanne), Tom (Laura), and Dan (Sarah); grandchildren, Amy (Kyle) Dee, Andrew (Kelly) Cooke, Anna (Justin) Jones, Aric (Roberta) Cooke, Megan (Kyle) Joern, Jake (Danielle) Cooke, Lindsay (A.J.) Simoncelli, Brian (Jennifer) Cooke, Molly Cooke, and Jason Cooke; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, John Soukup; and sister, Susan (Roy) Zinn.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; and parents.

A private graveside service will take place back in Kankakee Illinois.
