Daniel G. Stone

Daniel G. Stone, 75, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2008 in Rockport TX where he and his wife had been winter Texans for 8 years and permanent residents for 2 years. Prior to that they had lived in Muskegon. He was retired from Verizon as an electrical engineer. After his retirement, he pursued his hobbies - woodworking, fishing, and hunting. He was also an avid gardener. His infant son, Joshua; his parents, Earl and Anna Stone; and his brothers, Rodger and Wesley Stone preceded Dan in death. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Daniel Wesley (Tricia) Stone of Plainfield, IL and Stephen (Sabine) Stone of Kenton, OH; the joy of his life, his grandson, Dominick; his brother, Harry L. Stone of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Gloria P. VerDuin of Grand Rapids, MI; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Stone and Beverly Stone, both of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Muskegon Bethel Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Gideon's Society.
