Mr. Daniel Marr "Dan" Sobish, Sr., age 43, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008. He was born June 26, 1964 in Muskegon, MI to Jack L. and Marcia A. (Lynn) Sobish, Sr., and lived in the area his entire life. Dan graduated high school from Muskegon Catholic Central and had attended Grand Valley State University. He currently had been employed as a mail handler for the U.S. Post Office the past 12 years. Dan was an enthusiastic left-handed bowler. In addition to posting over a dozen perfect "300" games, he was proud to have founded the Lakeshore Singles Classic Bowling Tournament. Dan also enjoyed traveling with his family to many places, especially to Las Vegas for a hand or two of poker. He was deeply proud of his children, who will never find a better dad. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. On January 10, 1987, he married the former Sandra Kay Richardson in Grand Haven and she survives him, along with his son, DJ and his daughter, Corey. He is also survived by his mother, Marcia Sobish; 1 brother, Jack (Carol) Sobish,Jr.; 1 sister, Jean (David) Kennedy; his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Lynn-Ochs; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Orvil and Merlene Richardson; 2 brothers-in-law, Bob (Carole) Richardson, Bill Richardson; and 2 sisters-in-law, Gail (Ron) Skruch and Linda DeGram, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack L. Sobish, Sr. in 2007. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May 2, 2008 at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565 with Rev. Fr. William A. Langlois presiding. PRIVATE INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery. VISITATION with Dan's family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM today at the funeral home. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to the Education Fund for his children.
