Daniel Arthur Silberman Profile Photo

Daniel Arthur Silberman, age 90, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 29, 1933 to Meyer & Geraldin (Wolfe) Silberman and served his country in the US Army stateside during the Korean Conflict. He married the former Betty Fox on July 2, 1956 and they moved to Muskegon in 1957 with their 3 sons. Dan was a natural born salesman. In his early years he started a company called Marcrada, after his 3 sons Mark, Craig, and David, that sold family photography packages to new parents. It was a very successful business for many years. He later sold Craftmatic beds until retiring. Dan was a talented vocalist. He was known as the go to male singing voice for Muskegon. He performed for decades in the Muskegon Civic Theatre on stage and in the pit choir. He also sang for weddings, the Miss Muskegon and Miss Michigan Pageants, where his wife, Betty was the stage manager. He used his talent by singing at Temple B'Nai Israel where he was a beloved member of their congregation. He was a member of the Mona Lake Boat Club, where he gathered often with friends and family. Dan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was someone you could count on, who would jump in and help without even needing to be asked. He was hard working, strong, responsible, organized, loyal and showed he cared in so many ways. He made real connections with all that he met. He made sure to reach out to those around him, to get together over a meal, listen, catch up, and of course use his humor to lighten any situation. Dan will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
