Mr. Daniel J. Sagan, age 76, died peacefully Saturday, March 17, 2007. He was born on July 21, 1930 in Muskegon, MI, to George and Katherine (Flejszar) Sagan. Dan married Mary Lou Devine on September 18, 1954. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and enjoyed to fish and golf. Dan was a U.S. Air Force Veteran for more than 20 years serving his country during the Korean and Viet Nam Wars, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He then worked at the Brunswick Corporation for more than 17 years. Survivors are his wife, Mary Lou; 5 children, Cynthia Winsemius and Susan (Tim) Sorensen of Muskegon, Joseph Sagan of Lansing, Patrick (Shelly) Sagan of Grand Haven and Katherine (Todd) Brown of Muskegon; daughter-in-law, Cathy Sagan of Muskegon; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; sister, Angeline Drost of North Muskegon; brother, Edwin (Marilyn) Sagan of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Sagan in 1991 and sister, Mary Novak in 1995. The Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11 am Wednesday at St. Francis de Sales, the Marian Chapel, followed by Military Rites provided by U.S. Air Force personnel. Burial will be made in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 6-8:30 pm at the Pachesny-Jend Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm. Visitation also one hour prior to service at church. Memorial Contributions in lieu of flowers are asked to be given to the Muskegon Habitat for Humanity.
