Dale Frederick Rutkowski, age 75, of Norton Shores, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 1, after a three-year battle with cancer.
He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on April 26, 1950, to Alexander and Georgia (Argetzinger) Rutkowski. A graduate of Muskegon Heights High School, Dale worked as an assembler for Hart and Cooley in Holland for many years until his retirement.
Dale was a longtime member of the Muskegon Heights Eagles and, more recently, the Fruitport Eagles. He was known for his love of polka dancing and could often be found on the dance floor whenever a live band was playing at the club. In his quieter moments, he also enjoyed gardening.
Though he requested no services, he will be remembered by his surviving family. He is survived by his niece, Lisa King; his nephew, Jack (Dora) Rutkowski; and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Richard and Jack Rutkowski.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. He will be laid to rest with his father in Oak Grove Cemetery in Montague in the spring.
