Mrs. Velma M. Cramer, age 81, passed away after a very long illness. She was born April 28, 1925 in Muskegon to John and Stefani (Sneller) Polanyi, and was a life resident. On July 1, 1950, she married Willard A. Cramer and he preceded her in death on October 17, 1967. Mrs. Cramer was employed by Great Lakes Plating for over 17 years, and previously worked at Bennet Pump. Mrs. Cramer was a life member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church until relocating to the Norton Shores area 15 years ago. She had most recently been a member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church. She was a life member on the Muskegon Heights Eagles Aerie #2106. Velma enjoyed many activities throughout her life, including bowling, 4H Club leader, knitting, crocheting, playing cards, baking and cooking, and most importantly, spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Russell) Barnes, and Karen Rose both of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Stefani (Kevin) Puckett, Todd (Jeanne) Basch, Jason and Jeffrey Rose; 3 great grandchildren, Brittany and Andrew Puckett, and Zachary Basch; sister-in-law, Shirley Polanyi (Virgil Lee); several nieces and nephews; special cousin, Mary Bohland; special friend, Margo VanFossen. Mrs. Cramer was also preceded in death by Stephen and John Polanyi. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11 AM Tuesday at St. Francis deSales Marian Chapel with Rev. Fr. Michael Olsen officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday (today) at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 and 1 hour prior to the service from 10-11 AM Tuesday at church. A Rosary will be prayed 6 PM Monday evening at the funeral home. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice or St. Francis deSales Catholic Church.
