Cooper, Alta Mae

Mrs. Alta Mae (McBride) Cooper, age 91, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord Thursday afternoon, February 8, 2007, following a long illness. She was born November 18, 1915 in Waynesfield, OH to Ames and Millie (Bailey) Cook. Alta came to Muskegon in 1936 and married Mr. Chester E. Cooper on February 14, 1944. He preceded her in death on November 20, 1985. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Cooper was employed at Haspers, Eberhards, and Broadway grocery stores. SURVIVORS: 2 sons, Edward M. (Karla) McBride of Walkerville and Kenneth W. (Yvonne) McBride of Coopersville; 1 daughter, Arlene (Leo) Morris of Purvis, MS; a very dear friends, Junior and Norma Morgan; 9 grandchildren; 29 great-grand-children; and 4 great-great-grand-children. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at the Lee Funeral Home, 2812 Fifth St., Muskegon Hts., Tuesday, 11:00 A.M., with David Harpe presiding. INTERMENT: Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: At the funeral home, Monday, 2-4 and 6-8 PM. MEMORIAL: Harbor Hospice.
