Constance Goertz

Mrs. Constance L. "Lou" Goertz, age 63, died Friday, February 23, 2007. She was born in Bay City, MI on June 26, 1943 to Fred & Ruby (Poirier) Merritt and married Ronald Goertz on February 5, 1966. Mrs. Goertz had been employed as a teacher's aide at Fruitport Public Schools for 15 years. She was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan who enjoyed sports, shopping, cooking, and movies, but foremost was her family. SURVIVORS Husband of 41 years, Ronald; 2 sons, Jerome "Jay" Goertz of Fruitport and Tim (Barbie) Goertz of Fruitport; 2 grandchildren, Mikki and Jaymi; 3 sisters, Florence "Jimmie" Hamilton of TN, Bertha Merritt of Coldwater, MI, and Anna Messner of FL; brother, John (Sandra) Merritt of Spring Lake; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Cecelia. SERVICE An open house memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2007, 4:30-6:30 PM, at the Tim and Barbie Goertz Residence, 5904 Wilson Rd., Fruitport.
