Clemencia Valdez VALDEZ, MRS. CLEMENCIA Whitehall Mrs. Valdez, age 85, died January 3, 2006. Born November 21, 1920, in Sabinas, State of Coahuila, Mexico, to Jose and Maria Elena (Alvarado) Gonzalez; on July 28, 1943, in Shelby, she married Jose Valdez, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1989. She had worked as a teacher aide for MAISD and was a member of St. James Catholic Church for many years. Above all, she enjoyed and loved time with family members. Mrs. Valdez was preceded in death by a son, Jose Valdez, Jr., in January 1976 and a daughter, Ramona Cleveland in June, 1976 and by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. SURVIVORS 1 son, Leonard "Leo" (Rose) Valdez of Whitehall; 1 daughter, Consuelo "Connie" Cantu of Muskegon; daughter-in-law, Hilda Gonzalez of Whitehall; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Maria De La Luz Gonzalez and Josefina Mendiola both of San Antonio, TX; many nieces, nephews & cousins. FUNERAL LITURGY Saturday, January 7, 2006, at 11:00 AM, from St. James Catholic Church - Montague, with the Rev. Fr. Chris W. Rouech presiding. A VIGIL FOR THE DECEASED will be held Friday 7 PM, at the funeral home in Whitehall. VISITING HOURS Friday 2-4 & 6-8 PM, at the funeral home in Whitehall.
