Clarence "Barney" Johnson

Mr. Clarence Ronald "Barney" Johnson , age 90, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on September 8, 1926 to Roy & Fern (Miller) Johnson and served his country in the US Navy Seabees during World War II. He married the former Aletha Meridith on September 18, 1948. Mr. Johnson had been employed as a heat treat operator for Teledyne Continental Motors for 45 years until retiring in 1988. Clarence was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and life member of Clement F Derezinski Post #7729. He was an avid shuffle board and cribbage player. SURVIVORS Sons, Ronald (Marcia) Johnson, Mark Johnson, both of Muskegon; daughters, Cheryl (Vernon) Brown of Muskegon, Michele (Steve) Shaw of IN; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, James (Donna) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aletha in 2012; sisters, Linda Hart & Marilyn Gierke. SERVICE Thursday, May 25, 2017, 2:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Rick Miller officiating and Military Honors. MEMORIAL: Grace Lutheran Church.
