Christopher Edward Young

Young, Mr. Christopher Edward Grand Rapids Christopher Edward Young, age 74, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022. He was born in Trenton, MI on April 14, 1948 to Edward & Delores Young. He graduated from Bentley High School in 1966; and received his associates degree in computer science from Schoolcraft College. He is survived by Colleen, his wife of 48 years, two sons, his oldest Adrian (Naomi) Young and their children Abigail and Marcus; and his youngest son David (Colin) Young, sisters Melanie (Larry) Klenk and Valerie Young, nephew Andrew (Mariko) Klenk, and niece Jamie Klenk (John Strucel). He was preceded in death by his parents. Chris and Colleen were married on September 29, 1973. Shortly after Adrian was born they moved from Owosso to Muskegon and raised their raised their two sons there. While living in Muskegon, Chris had been employed as a programmer for S.D. Warren and few companies. Prior to retirement he also had several other jobs, including working for Maple Island Log Homes, managing a few Family Dollar locations throughout West Michigan, and he also was employed with Muskegon Works which allowed him to help and assist others, which was his true passion. Chris had a reputation for helping others, he was always looking for a way to bring a smile to the face of folks he met. Having servant's heart for the Lord he enjoyed volunteering at his church, Bridge Life Church, as well as Muskegon's annual Unity Festival. Chris loved fishing and the outdoors, some of our happiest memories of him were the days and times spent fishing out on one of the lakes and spending time together as a family and sharing his passion for the outdoors, especially fishing, with his with his grandchildren. He was respected by many and loved by all who met him; and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. MEMORIAL: To Adrian Young for a longer lasting memorial.
