Christine C Fouser

Christine "Chris" Carlson Fouser went to be with her Lord on November 7, 2022. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, September 26, 1940, and died in Muskegon, MI. Chris graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School in 1958, and then earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Olaf College in 1962. Chris married William Thomas "Tom" Fouser in Oak Park, Illinois in 1963, and then called Kewanee home for 57 years. She was an infection control nurse at Kewanee Public Hospital, a nursing clinical instructor at Black Hawk Community College, and a home health nurse both with the hospital and the Henry & Stark County Public Health Department. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Chris enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and nurse. She treasured her Swedish heritage, and enjoyed travel, missions trips with Joni and Friends' Wheels for the World, Bible study, writing, photography (always a camera in hand), learning new things (encyclopedias frequently came to the dinner table), cookies and ice cream, and she laughed a lot. She is survived by sister Elsa Dames of LaGrange Highlands, Illinois, daughters Laura Fouser of Fortaleza, Brazil and Cynthia (Steven) Simons of Huntley, Illinois, son Douglas (Sarah) Fouser of Montague, Michigan, seven grandchildren, and many long-time friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26 at 11:30 AM at First Baptist Church in Kewanee, Illinois followed by a memorial service at 12:30 PM.
