OWEN, MRS. CHARLOTTE G. Grand Haven Mrs. Charlotte G. Owen, age 83, passed away Friday, July 20, 2001. A lifelong native of Muskegon, she was born on October 24, 1917 & married the late Eugene ''Gene'' Owen on June 12, 1943. Mrs. Owen, a graduate of Albion College, was an elementary school teacher in Goodrich, Rockford & Muskegon. She was a person devoted to family & friends, of which she had many. Mrs. Owen was involved in the community through the Hackley Hospital Auxiliary, the Muskegon Womens Club & the Muskegon Parent Teachers Association. She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church & the Muskegon Country Club. Throughout her life, Charlotte's true interest was in people & she formed many friendships. SURVIVORS She is survived by her son, Gary Charlotte Owen of Adrian, MI; 2 daughters, Janice Al Whitlow of Muskegon & Cheril David Ruddick of Rockford as well as 7 grandchildren, Heather & Laurel Whitlow; Jeffrey & Andy Ruddick; Lisa Steve Moore; Nathan & Matthew Owen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene on June 18, 1998, 2 sisters, Katherine Meyers & Mildred Wallace & by 1 brother, Louis Freye. SERVICE Tuesday, July 24, 2001, 11:00 AM at Lakeside United Methodist Church with Rev. William Myers officiating. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery.
