Charles R. Zalsman Sr.

Mr. Charles Richard Zalsman Sr., age 70, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017. He was born in Grand Haven, Michigan on August 21, 1947 to Major & Gertrude (Prior) Zalsman and served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He married the former Christine Roseboom on July 7, 1966. Mr. Zalsman had been employed as an auto mechanic at Rod's Auto Parts and an industrial mechanic for Sara Lee until retiring. Charles was a member of Evergreen Golf Course and a former member of the American Legion. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, golf, playing cards and going to casinos. Charles helped build 9 houses and loved to tinker, especially in carpentry. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Daughter, Joann Zalsman of Grand Haven; son, Charles (Sara) Zalsman Jr. of Grand Haven; grandchildren, Jacob,Caleb, Miles sister, Lucille R. (Rodney) Kruithoff of Zeeland; sister-in-law, Jean Zalsman of Grand Haven; He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine in 2000; brothers, LeRoy, Philip, sisters, Marjorie Currier & Rose Stille. SERVICE Tuesday, December 5, 2017, 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Clock Chapel - Grand Haven with Pastor Bill Russell officiating and Military Honors.
