Mr. Charles W. Wilson, age 86, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Gerber Memorial Hospital in Fremont. He was born September 22, 1921 in Muskegon, Michigan to Charles and Alta (Correll) Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora; a daughter, Pearl; one brother; and six sisters. Mr. Wilson was a World War II veteran and a member of the North Muskegon Don Rea Post where he also served as quartermaster. He was retired from the Neway Equipment Company. He was also a member of the restoration team for the Milwaukee Clipper and an avid fan of the Muskegon Fury Hockey Team. He is survived by his three children, Charles E. (Carolynn) Wilson, Shirley (Stanley) Anderson, and Cathy (Leonard) Drust; a close friend Ann Hartsema; three grandchildren, Charles D. Wilson, Charlia Wilson, and Eric (fiancee Janine Rawlings) Drust; two sisters; and two brothers. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 5, 2007, 4-7 p.m., at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel. A private family burial will be held. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Milwaukee Clipper Restoration Fund, 2098 Lakeshore Drive, Muskegon, Michigan.
