Charles L. "Charlie" Toot

Mr. Charles L. "Charlie" Toot, age 79, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on March 26, 1932 to Charles & Josephine (Vanderbroek) Toot and served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Charlie married the former Jane L. Conner on January 31, 1959. He began his employment with IBM for many years and later in life he became a self employed consultant in media. He attended First Congregational United Church Christ in Muskegon and was a trustee for Grand Haven Township on the Zoning Board of Appeals and Grand Haven School Foundation Board. He was an avid golfer and U of M football fan who enjoyed classical music and was gifted in home improvement. He will be dearly missed. SURVIVORS Wife of 52 years, Jane; son, Christopher L. Toot of Flint; daughter, Martha (Ron) Spencer of Parkton MD; grandsons, Zachary & Lucas Spencer. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack Toot. SERVICE Wednesday, February 1, 2012, 2:00 PM and visitation 1 hour prior to the service at First Congregational United Church Christ in Muskegon with Rev. Timothy D. Vander Haar officiating.
