Charles "Chuck" L. Stuthard, age 82, of Spring Lake passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at a Muskegon hospital. He was born January 24, 1925, in White Cloud, Michigan, to Harry and Elsie Stuthard, and he married the former Elizabeth "Jane" Fisher on October 26, 1973. Chuck served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a resident of Spring Lake for the past 25 years. He worked for First American Title Company as a title insurance examiner for 25 years and was previously employed by both S.D. Warren Paper Company and Continental Motors. Chuck was a member of Christ Community Church in Spring Lake and the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28 in Grand Haven. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, and he also enjoyed hunting. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; a daughter, Sharryl (Warren) Malinowski of Boise, Idaho; two sons, Darryl (Kathlene) Stuthard of Muskegon and Randy (Virginia) Stuthard of Spring Lake; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Cathy (Dr. Bruce) Martin and Barb (Rich) Kelly, both of Grand Haven; a sister, Margaret (Dorin) Ditlow of Grant, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-son, Ronald France; and three brothers: Allen, Roy, and Wayne. The service for Chuck will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2007, at Christ Community Church in Spring Lake with Rev. Robert Kleinheksel officiating. Friends may meet the family from 1:00-1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Military rites will be provided under the auspices of the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28 of Grand Haven. Interment will be in Lakeshore Cemetery. Memorials to the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28 are appreciated.
