Charles Estes

Charles Edwin Estes, 86, of Muskegon passed away on June 10, 2011. Charles was born on April 3, 1925 in Hart, MI where he enjoyed fishing and hunting. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the United States Army and fought in the Philippines during World War II. Upon his return he married Kathleen Mars and they raised two sons. He worked as a union pipefitter until his retirement. He wintered in Florida for the past 25 years where he enjoyed his favorite pastime of golfing. SURVIVORS Charles is survived by his wife of 64 years Kathleen; his children, David (Lori) and Steven (Amy); seven grandchildren, Nicholas (Erin), Sarah, Stephanie, Scott (Deb), David (Adriane), John, and Lisa; and four great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Jackson, Brady and Isla. SERVICE The family is planning a memorial service to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Mercy VNS and Hospice Services of Muskegon in the name of Charles Estes.
