Charena Michelle Levelston

Ms. Charena Michelle Levelston, age 47, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022. On October 13, 1974; She was was born to her father Richard Charles Williams and mother, Mary Alice Levelston. At a very young age while attending the Church of Christ, Charena accepted Christ and later was baptized by Pastor Hough at Angel Community Church. Charena received her education through Muskegon High School where she graduated with the class of 1992. She went on to continue her education at DeVry University in Illinois. Charena was fondly called "Pookie" by all her relatives and close friends. A name she accepted from childhood but could not get rid of and would quickly correct you and say, "My name is Charena." Charena worked many jobs white living in Muskegon. She was best known for her pleasant personality while working at Walmart. She relocated to Dallas, Texas in 2019 where she worked at Sam's Club until her health failed. Charena enjoyed reading, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. She was huge on family and wanted to do everything with them including traveling, having game nights, making skits, karaoke nights, dance offs and so on. Let's not forget the love of music. She had a passion for writing and singing. Charena never met a stranger and had an infectious smile that lit up a room. Becoming friends with her ultimately meant becoming family. There are too many friends to name but know that you are not excluded, and WE, her family loves you for loving her. Our beloved Charena Levelston leaves to cherish her memory, her (3) sons, DeVere Levelston, Terrance Levelston, and Keshaun Hysaw; (1) loving daughter Tyana Levetston all from Dallas, Texas. Her mother, Mary (David) Larson of Muskegon, Michigan; (2) sisters, Carmena (Leon) Long and Charlena (Johnnie) Taylor all from Dallas, Texas. (1) Brother, Jerel Harris of Denver Colorado. Her nephews Reuben, Ramont, LaBre, Rackwon, Jakari her nieces Carena, Chariana, Chauntetl, Chamiya, Kayani, Laci, Lyla and a host of great nieces and nephews. (8) God Children, Adrian, Trevion, Sean'Tae, Tiazha, Tayzha, Ramon, Teaera and Noah. Charena was preceded in death by her father Richard Williams, her maternal grandparents, Clinton & Idell Levelston, her paternal grandmother Ida Williams, her sister Celena Levelston, her brother Shemar Harris and her three nieces Charmena Levelston, Kayla Larson and Amiya Freeman.
