Chandra Lyn Page, age 37, passed away from complications of diabetes on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, surrounded by people who love her. Chandra was born February 16, 1971 in Detroit, Michigan and adopted at 9 weeks old by Larry and Marcia Page. Chandra attended several Muskegon elementary schools and graduated from Muskegon High School in 1989. She attended Eastern Michigan University, Muskegon Community College, and graduated from Grand Valley State University in 1998 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in non-profit administration with a medical emphasis. She showed an easy talent for music, playing trombone, piano, flute, and tuba. She learned each seemingly without effort. Chandra is survived by her parents, Marcia and John Aslakson and Larry and Gretchen Page; grandmother, Lucille Page; brother & sister-in-law, Jack and Jamie Page; and her much loved niece and nephew, Madison and Logan Page. Chandra will be mourned and missed by a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as by honorary aunts, Marty Allen and Barb Stuart. Chandra was preceded in death by Grandpa Charles Page, Grandma and Grandpa Ruth and Bill Seelman, Grandma and Grandpa Eleanor and H. Raymond Aslakson, and a very special, Aunt Kathy Page. According to Chandra's wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Chandra's life will be held Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Hagar's Hideaway, 3156 Lakeshore Drive, 4-8pm. A brief remembrance service will be held at 5:30 with Chandra's Uncle, Father Tom Page, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Chandra's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or to the Kathy Page Memorial Fund of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County.
