Champion, Eleanor M.

Mrs. Champion, age 87, died November 18, 2006. Born December 25, 1918, in Detroit, to Charles and Jeanette (DeWitt) Mellman, she had lived in the White Lake area the past 47 years. On August 7, 1937, she married Harry W. Champion, who preceded her in death in 1974. Mrs. Champion had worked at Kysor of Cadillac for 16 years, retiring in 1979, and had attended Christ the Rock World Harvest Church in Montague. FAMILY: A daughter, Patricia Champion (companion, Michael "Dave" Yeager) of Montague; grandchildren, Michelle (Daniel) Vermilyea of Muskegon, Stephen Scott of Iowa and Shane Scott of Ypsilanti; great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Scott, Megan Vermilyea, Dominick Vermilyea and Isaiah Scott. SERVICE: Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at 1:00 PM, from Clock Chapel-Whitehall with the Rev. Gary A. Kozicki and Pastor LeRoy McClain officiating. Interment will be made in Oakwood Cemetery - Gaines, Michigan. VISITING HOURS: Tuesday, noon until service time at Clock Funeral Home in Whitehall.
